Isaiah 117 Location
Indy Roof Company is transforming a house into a new Isaiah 117 location. The company’s founder, Aaron Christy, started it with the goal of establishing a purpose-driven organization. He also believed that investing in the community was very important to the company’s success. When it comes to finding opportunities to engage with the local community, the company looks for projects that are close to meeting the needs of the people it serves. The goal of the organization is to reduce the trauma that children going through the foster system experience. It also helps facilitate the transition for foster and kinship families. When kids are removed from their homes due to their welfare, they usually end up in the child welfare services office. The wait for children in the foster system can take several hours. Many of them are scared, hungry, and dirty. At Isaiah 117 House, kids are given a safe and warm place to wait. This is where they can feel safe and secure while receiving the love and support they need. Volunteers also provide them with toys and clean clothes. The facility also serves as a safe and secure environment for the kids waiting in the foster system. During this time, child welfare workers can help them find a good foster family.

‘Tats 4 Tails’ Fundraiser for the Shelbyville Animal Shelter
Aaron Christy and Indy Roof Company participated in a fundraising event for the Shelbyville Animal shelter on September the 3rd, 2022! Stage Left Tattoo and Piercing hosted the event, appropriately named Tats-4-Tails. Customers had the option to choose between small (mostly) animal themed tattoos from a flash sheet (now available to view on Stage Left’s Facebook page). These designs included things like pawprints, dog bones and animal silhouettes. Normally priced between $80-$100, these tattoos were set at $50 per design and all proceeds went to the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal shelter. The Tats-4-Tails event was first come, first serve, with a large turnout! Interested participants arrived when the parlor opened at noon, and were cycling through artists with turnaround time of about 15 minutes. The parlor took their last customer at about 7:30 pm, resulting in about 200 total tattoos! There were about five tattoo artists working that day and volunteers helping customers with paperwork to keep the event flowing.
The total earnings are for the day were matched by Indy Roof Company with their own donation to the animal shelter! This donation was presented to the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal shelter via large check. In the end, Indy Roof Company matched the results of the event by donating 10,000 dollars to the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal shelter! In total, the shelter received a whopping 20,000 dollars! The shelter says this money will go towards vet costs to help sick, neglected, and injured animals in their shelter. Thank you to everyone that participated!
